Launching the AFIN Ambassadors Network – a program designed to expand access to financing within the social economy
Iași, 26 November 2025 – AFIN, Romania’s first non-bank financial institution dedicated exclusively to the social economy, officially launches the AFIN Ambassadors Network – a pilot program that brings social financing closer to local communities.
This program serves a dual purpose: it expands AFIN’s visibility at the national level and provides support in guiding eligible organizations toward the most suitable financing opportunities – NGOs, social enterprises, sheltered units, cooperatives, and other economic entities with social impact.
A network of locally active ambassadors
In a context where access to financing remains a major challenge for the social economy sector, this initiative addresses the need for local support infrastructure and expertise, reducing the distance between organizations and the information they require. Each ambassador becomes a bridge between on-the-ground needs and the financing solutions developed by AFIN.
AFIN Ambassadors are individuals with experience in the social economy sector, who understand the ecosystem and can provide direct guidance to organizations in their area.
“Financing projects with social impact requires a direct partnership, rooted in the reality of those who build within their communities. This is why we are developing this network together with local professionals who understand both the challenges faced by organizations on the ground and the support mechanisms we can offer,” said Manuela Iftimoaei, Deputy Director of AFIN and coordinator of this pilot program.
To begin with, the program will be operational in Bucharest, Brașov, Timișoara, Piatra Neamț, Câmpina, Sibiu, and Cluj, with plans to expand it to other regions of the country.
