Carmen Lică Advisory Board
Carmen Lică – este unul dintre fondatori si Directoarea Centrului Step by Step pentru Educatie si Dezvoltare Profesionala, membru fondator si in Boardul ReadyNation Romania.
During the past 25 years she has developed and lead the Step-by-Step Center for Education and Professional Capacity Building in its mission to support efforts for reforming the educational field through implementing the step-by-step educational alternative in early and primary education stages and through integrating the most innovative practices in services addressing early childhood in Romania. The step-by-step educational alternative is currently functioning to the direct benefit of over 31000 children from the public educational system, in over 500 nursery and Kindergarten classes and in over 720 classes from primary education. She was also actively involved in drawing up the agenda and in building public policies in the field of early education in Romania.
In 1999 Carmen Lica, together with other colleagues, funded the Step-by-Step International Association currently including 92 member organizations from 43 countries. Carmen is part of the international learning community developed within the Step-by-Step International Association, bringing together specialists from Europe, Central Asia and America.
In 2000, she funded the “Bambi” Step-by-Step Kindergarten and in 2012, the Step-by-Step Primary School, both educational facilities functioning as Excellency Centers of the Step-by-Step Center for Education and Professional Capacity Building.
In 2016, together with representatives of the business community, Carmen funded ReadyNation Romania as part of the ReadyNation International network, an organization of business individuals, with over 100 members in Romania supporting the investment in early education for the capacity building of human capital.
In 2019, Carmen Lică was decorated by the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis with the “Pentru Merit” National Order as Knight, in sign of appreciation for the important contribution to developing and modernizing the Romanian educational system, as well as for the involvement in the project entitled “Educated Romania”.
