The first edition of the Social Financial Trophy, the charity tennis tournament of financial and banking institutions, took place in Bucharest from 6 to 8 May. There were 16 teams playing tennis for a change for the better, combining social mission with the joy of sport.
The first edition of the Social Finance Trophy has just announced its winners. The teams of amateur tennis players who competed for the tournament cup represented various financial-banking institutions and mass media. The matches were hosted by Pescariu Sports&Spa, the official partner of the event.
The 3 teams who made it to the podium were:
1st PLACE - Press Team: Cristian Mindru, Cosmin Cernat, Dragos Suciu and Constantin Rudnitchi
2nd PLACE - NA Business Pro team: Ioana and Nicolae Avram
3rd PLACE - Roland Berger team: Andrei Berghianu and Darius Madadi
The Social Finance Trophy was organised by The Social Incubator and the Social Finance Association and is a charity tennis tournament dedicated to supporting social entrepreneurs in their early stages. The idea behind the event is that social entrepreneurship can bring the business world closer to the people, and social entrepreneurs are the visionaries who do things differently. By participating in the Social Financial Trophy, the tennis amateurs contribute to the socio-professional integration of young people from vulnerable backgrounds. With the funds raised, a process of mediation and labour market integration in the tailoring trade will be initiated within RetușArt, the social enterprise initiative of The Social Incubator Association. By attracting resources to the tournament, the Social Finance Association will facilitate access to finance for social entrepreneurs in their early stages. They will have the support of a consultant to develop their business plan and apply for dedicated financial instruments.
